STAGE ONE FEATUREs

The Garden of Woven Memories

The Garden of Woven Memories - a collaboration with the Kuku Yalanji Traditional Owners. Representing plants and totems that are part of a traditional story about the land and the area.

Conservatory

The Conservatory will showcase regional plants including orchids water lilies and highlighting seasonal exhibits.

Nursery

An in-situ nursery filling the established shortage of native plants and the overall inadequate supply of native species that has been identified as a key bottleneck for meeting global ecological restoration targets.

STAGE TWO FEATURES

The Cloud House

The Cloud House- The Australian Tropical Herbarium (ATH) and the Mossman Botanic Garden by combining data from existing collections with new field survey data for species distribution and climate tolerance are predicting the impact of climate change on the rare and endemic plant species of Australia's tropical mountain tops and taking precautionary action to secure these plants in a living collection. The Cloud House would be a state-of-the-art  Dome Conservatory based in the heart of the Gardens, dedicated to the conservation of rare and endangered Wet Tropic mountaintop species. Within the cloud house, which will be cooled to a constant 18 degrees celsius, MBG will be able to host weddings and other specialist events.
